Scenic 4X4 Tours We offer all day and half day tours designed to help you experience the best of the San Juan Mountains. Whether you are looking for breath taking scenic vistas, ghost towns, rugged alpine terrain, beautiful water falls or alpine flowers one of our tours will suit your desires. We offer only the most modern, well-maintained vehicles with personal attention and comfort guaranteed for our customers. Check out our outstanding five bay garage which allows us to provide the best maintained vehicles in the area. All tour vehicles are inspected and certified annually by the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Colorado. We choose to keep our tour groups small, enabling you to stop whenever, and wherever you choose for photos or rock collecting. Our experienced drivers/guides have over 75 years of combined experience are dedicated to your complete enjoyment and satisfaction. All driver/guides are CPR and first aid certified. Ponchos and blankets are on board all our vehicles for your comfort. Switzerland of America, Inc. operates under a Special Use Permit on the Uncompahgre National Forest and is an equal opportunity service provider.

All day tours depart at 8:00 A.M. and return at 5:00 P.M. Half day tours depart at 8:00 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. Morning departures during May & September to closing are at 8:30 A.M. Children ages 3 through 12 are half price on all tours. Children under 3 are free.  We can pickup and drop off wherever you are staying in the Ouray town limits with prior arrangements. AAA and senior (65+) discounts are available.

Jeep® Rentals
       For the more adventurous, take the keys to one of our new Jeep® Wranglers and head into the high country. There are over 500 miles of 4-wheel drive trails in the area. We provide free mapping service so you will get the most out of your drive. We also have available a complete selection of maps, trail guides and historical books. Our friendly experienced staff will be glad to answer all your questions. We remember our first time on the trails too and want to help you have a fun, enjoyable time. We have a modern, clean garage facility to back up our vehicles to keep them safe and clean for your enjoyment. Rent for a full week and receive your 7th day free. Free unlimited mileage. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age. Our vehicles rent for $140.00 per day for the 2-door Jeep Wrangler and $160.00 per day for the 4-door model, with unlimited mileage. Rent for 3 to 6 days and receive a $5.00 per day discount. Drivers must have proof of their comprehensive, collision and liability insurance and be prepared to put up a $500.00 damage deposit by credit card or cash. Airport Shuttle service can be arranged with your reservation through Ouray Express & 1-866-990-5337. Customers renting a Jeep for 4 or more days will receive a 50% discount on airport pick-ups.

Hot Air Balloon Rides Join us for a "gentle adventure" of hot air ballooning as you rise with the sun over the spectacular Ridgway Valley surrounded by snow capped mountain peaks, lush green mesas, and rugged rocky plateaus. Nowhere on earth is there a more beautiful place to experience your very own balloon adventure. The entire experience takes approximately three hours but your memories will last for a lifetime. Reservations are required. Adults are $225.00 and children under 12 are $140.00. Discounts are available for three or more passengers. Whitewater Rafting These are professionally guided adventures on some of the best water in the San Juan Mountains. Half day, all day or multiple days are available. Our rivers provide beautiful scenery, wonderful wilderness areas and a thrilling experience that the whole family can enjoy. Call for reservations and water levels. These are participatory trips. Children 6 to 7 are encouraged but must weigh at least 50 pounds. Half day trips start at $65.00 for adults and $45.00 for children. Fly Fishing Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat, and Brook Trout are all right here in our streams and lakes. The San Miguel is our most popular trout river. It is a high gradient, low volume, free flowing stream. There are 35 miles of the main river and several feeder streams which can be fished. Professional guides will help make your fly fishing experience memorable. Half day and all day trips are available as well as clinics to teach you casting or to help you improve your skills. All equipment is available for rent or purchase. Reservations are required. Half day ‘walk and wade’ available - call 1-866-990-5337 for pricing. Discounts may be available for groups. Horseback Riding        Enjoy horseback riding surrounded by the scenic beauty of the San Juan Mountains. Located near the Ridgway Reservoir you will be impressed with the picture postcard beauty of the area. Rides are geared to your level of riding. Longer rides are available upon request with advance reservations. All trail rides are led by an experienced wrangler who will be your guide. Riders must be 8 years or older. Reservations are required. One and a half hour to two hour rides are available starting at $60.00 per rider. Switzerland of America, Inc. is a ticketing agent for local, quality cowboy guides.

Group Tours & Weddings, Corporate Retreats and other Special Events We specialize in large groups and special events. We can work around your schedule catering any and all meals as well as delicious box lunches whether it is a picnic in the mountains, a quick breakfast or a fine sit-down five course dinner. We will pick you up where you are staying and deliver you back at the end of your event.
